Friction and Wear Reduction of Eccentric Journal Bearing Made of Sn-Based Babbitt for Ore Cone Crusher.

摘要: An anti-friction Babbitt alloy-coated bearing made by a casting process is journal bearing, which used in an ore cone crusher eccentric. The main purpose of the coated eccentric to provide low friction support and guide rotating shaft. Despite fact that Babbitt-coated offers coefficient can be operated without continuous supply lubricant, it suffers from mining environments short service life. In this study, ultrasonic nanocrystalline surface modification (UNSM) technique was further reduce coefficient, increase wear resistance, extend life Sn-based metal. behavior metal investigated using block-on-ring tester under both dry oil-lubricated conditions. results experiments revealed could improved application UNSM technique. mechanisms specimens were explained discussed terms changes properties—microstructure, hardness, roughness, etc.
