摘要: Individuals vary their behavior from moment to a great deal, often acting "out of character" for traits. This article investigates the consequences authenticity. We compared 2 hypotheses-trait consistency, that individuals feel most authentic when in way consistent with traits; and state-content significance, some ways more because content consequences, regardless actor's corresponding Three studies using experience-sampling methodology laboratory natural settings, participants ages 18-51, strongly supported significance hypothesis did not support trait-consistency hypothesis.
