摘要: In view of the so-called biopolitical turn, this chapter traces genealogies critical understanding biopolitics in human geography, and more specifically political geography. It highlights two routes for such – one via Foucault's legacy as well Agamben's recent readings biopolitics, while other originates from Geopolitik tradition. Covering well-known route Foucault Agamben, goes beyond conventional narrative, to introduce genealogical accounts offered by Italian philosophers German sociologist Lemke. then seeks explore multiple “new” geographies inspired “biopolitical imperative.” The ends reflecting on essential link between “bio” “geo,” recalling historical concept living/vital space geopolitical ontologies Third Reich.
