摘要: Porphyromonas gingivalis is a frequent isolate from the gingival sulcus of individuals with periodontal disease, and believed to play major role in pathogenesis chronic adult periodontitis (Slots, 1977; Tanner et al., 1979; White Mayrand, 1981). This organism gram-negative, nonmotile, nonspore-forming, obligate anaerobe. Cells are generally cocco-bacillary (0.5 by 1 2 µm) shape. Until recently, P. was known as Bacteroides gingivalis, member asaccharolytic black-pigmented group, but species has now been reclassified (Shah Collins, 1988).
