摘要: In this chapter, we consider modesty and its importance. We begin by defining modesty, proceed to argue that being modest is hard work, then lay out some reasons why so. Next, make the case correlates with, may even cause, several desirable outcomes—intrapersonal, interpersonal, group. conclude attempting reconcile discrepancies between two empirical literatures, one suggesting entails social mental health benefits, other self-enhancement does.
