摘要: Aim To evaluate the association between chronic oral inflammatory burden (OIB) – as combination of periodontal and endodontic disease load physical fitness. Methodology One hundred twelve nonsmoker male police officers who performed a standardized fitness test (PFT) were analysed. Participants underwent clinical periapical radiographic examinations. Periodontal was assessed by probing depth (PD) attachment loss (AL). For analysis, both apical periodontitis (AP) root canal treatment (RCT) variables Endodontic Burden (EB) calculated merging total number teeth with AP and/or RCT per individual. OIB combining EB AL. The outcome dichotomized according to whether highest PFT score ‘achieved’ or ‘not-achieved’. Multivariable logistic regression models adjusted for age, body mass index frequency daily exercise. Results There no significant AP, whereas PD, AL significantly associated low (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that individuals OIB = EB ≥ 3 AL ≥ 4 mm had 81% lower chance reaching (OR = 0.19, 95%CI = 0.04–0.87, P = 0.03) compared EB < 3 AL ≥ 4 mm. Individuals unfavourable parameters but (OIB = EB < 3 & AL ≥ 4 mm) showed differences on reach participants favourable status AL ≥ 4 mm). Conclusions The higher levels in patients independently poor males.
