Factors associated with risk for HIV infection among chronic mentally ill adults.

摘要: OBJECTIVE Chronic mentally ill adults have been found to be at risk for HIV infection. The authors investigated the prevalence of behaviors among psychiatric outpatients. Correlates factors and characteristics patient relationships in which occurred were investigated. METHOD Structured interviews conducted with 95 chronic from urban community support service programs. focused on sexual substance use behavior, history behaviors, relationship related risk. RESULTS study showed that 27% all patients had two or more sex partners previous year 18% received money drugs sex. High rates illicit drug also found, frequent alcohol association activity. Multiple regression analyses drugs, meeting clinics, bars accounted a substantial proportion variance behavior. CONCLUSIONS These results suggest an urgent need prevention programs targeted adults. Risk-producing social networks should addressed development interventions.
