摘要: Desmostachya bipinnata Stapf (Poaceae/Gramineae) is an official drug of ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. Various parts this plant were used extensively in traditional and folklore medicine to cure various human ailments. The present study was aimed evaluate the antioxidant DNA damage protection activity hydroalcoholic extract both vitro vivo, provide scientific basis for usage plant. showed significant a dose-dependent manner with IC50 value  μg/mL H2O2 scavenging assay prevented oxidative presence damaging agent (Fenton’s reagent) at concentration 50 μg/mL. Also, protected yeast cells against (Hydroxyurea) spot assay. Moreover, exhibited vivo by protecting stressing (H2O2). Altogether, results current revealed that potential source antioxidants lends pharmacological credence ethnomedical use system medicine, justifying its therapeutic application free-radical-induced diseases.
