摘要: To determine the effectiveness of teaching interpersonal skills in a general internal medicine residency, program was developed utilizing videotape feedback house-staff/patient interactions, modification Interpersonal Process Recall (IPR). Fifty-one randomly selected house officers at different levels training were included controlled, pretest-posttest study design. The major pre-post measures three independent ratings videotapes actual first-visit interviews between resident and patient. House experimental group significantly increased proportion each interview devoted to psychosocial issues compared with controls, although remained predominantly medical; use effective responses; improved their level empathy patients. Personality attitude found not correlate observed on pretest or posttest videotapes. rated as being interesting, valuable, relevant, nonthreatening. data suggest that can be effectively taught residents program.
