摘要: Historical demography as a separate discipline came into existence when family reconstruction was first developed for the analysis of pre-transition population. This paper assesses significant achievements made in this field population studies since then. Attention is also paid to equally findings obtained from aggregative based on back projection, and large body research results period demographic transition. In last part paper, new directions are discussed. Data issues well methodological ones raised. Special attention given newly emerging Asian historical where different source materials require methods techniques, which turn expected broaden scope so far disproportionality fertility-oriented field.
