摘要: Summary - Bidirectional mass selection for the ratio of height/length generated a response in both directions. Estimates realized heritability were 0.47 f 0.06 and 0.33 ±0.10 up down respectively 0.42 t 0.03 divergence. This means that body shape common carp can be changed fairly rapidly by selection. Presumably, differences among different genetic groups are due to intensities number generations this trait practised past. The traditional belief growth rate correlated was not confirmed study. line, possessing lowest height/length, showed fastest rate. At face value implies negative height/length. We suggest treating finding with some reservation, since did differ significantly our test lines. These results may applied aquaculture selecting an increasing only if high backed fish have advantage their own right such as higher price or improved market acceptance. / bidirectional
