摘要: The purpose of this study was to explore the personal stories women who selected and continue excel at careers in areas mathematics, science, technology better understand ways which their self-efficacy beliefs influenced academic career choices. Analysis 15 narratives revealed that verbal persuasions vicarious experiences were critical sources women's beliefs. These findings suggest perceived importance these believes may be stronger for male-oriented domains than individuals operating traditional settings. Academic relational self efficacy perceptions resulted perseverance resiliency required overcome obstacles. Findings support refine theoretical tenets A. Bandura's (1986) social cognitive theory, they also theory are consistent with work C. Gilligan (1982) N. Noddings (1992).
