Combined intra-arterial and systemic chemotherapy for recurrent malignant brain tumors.

摘要: Seventy-nine patients harboring recurrent brain tumors received four cycles of infraophthalmic carotid injections 160 mg carmustine. Two milligrams intravenous vincristine and 50 oral procarbazine was also administered three times daily for 1 week in conjunction with each BCNU treatment. The response rate 60% a median survival astrocytomas, anaplastic glioblastomas 32, 20, 6.5 months, respectively. the responding 20 at 30 months 45%. not to treatment 5 reflecting natural history tumor. There have been no deaths related procedure. No incidents severe or permanent eye complications leukoencephalopathy were observed. Based on multivariate analysis, only good performance status who are steroid dependent candidates this
