摘要: There is growing global concern about agricultural intensification, particularly the environmental impacts of pastoral farming on soil attributes, selected ecosystem services and greenhouse gas emissions. Intensification practices an ongoing accelerating process in countries whose economies are based primarily livestock farming, where increased pasture production for higher per hectare animal productivity major goal farmers. To farmers sustainability means managing their personal resources, land capital assets farm business, so that business can sustain future families. Therefore, lands to maintain productivity, profitability environment becoming seek achieve. This chapter addresses intensification managed grasslands, with emphasis temperate-grazed systems, provides overview inputs intensively pastures key processes gaseous emissions, special reference New Zealand. It also explores options reducing negative identifies current gaps limitations development management strategies maintaining environment.
