摘要: I analyzed primary literature, spanning 42 years (1948-1990) that addressed buffalograss and blue grama's response to fire; no relevant literature has been published since 1990. The results suggest fire in shortgrass steppe need not be negative. Plant depends mainly on levels of precipitation. though some studies indicated the season during which occurs may also affect recov ery grama. This paper re-examines effects two major plant species steppe, (Buchloe dactyloides (Nutt.) Engelm) grama (Bouteloua gracilis (H. B. K.) Lag.). These shortgrasses are considered drought resistant fully adapted driest sections central Great Plains, where they constitute principal native vegetation terms basal area coverage (Savage Jacobson 1935). co-dominants over much short grass region North America. southern Plains is referred as a Bouteloua gracilis-Buchloedactyloides association (Shantz 1923; Kuchler 1964; Coffin et al. 1996).
