摘要: The use of a subcutaneous engineered securement device (SESD) for peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) in an acute care setting was found to have direct impact on line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) rates compared traditional adhesive devices (AESD). Objective While the literature suggests SESDs has had successful results securement, it is unknown what extent they may CLABSI rates. Securement and stabilization performance among be risk factor CLABSIs. Methods A retrospective quality review 7,776 cases conducted at large academic medical center. primary researcher implemented quantitative design which analyzed with demographics statistics relative ratio. Results There 288% (n = 47) increase AESD group SESD group. imply improve nursing practice patient outcomes lowering patients PICCs by reduction risks differences.
