摘要: Twenty brown midrib (bmr) mutants of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) were evaluated for agronomic traits, forage quality traits and the relationships between these traits. Potential fodder was assessed by laboratory analysis. Significant differences observed among bmr (bmr1, 3, 6, 7, 8 two new mutants) stover yield, plant height, nitrogen (N) content, in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), metabolizable energy (ME) content acid detergent lignin (ADL) content. The such as IS 23253, 21549, 23789 23787 had high yield coupled with better quality, hence can be exploited future hybrid breeding programs. All reduced cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) activity except uncharacterized mutant, whose allelic relationship is yet to determined.
