Factors Influencing Farmers' Willingness to Participate in the Conversion of Cultivated Land to Wetland Program in Sanjiang National Nature Reserve, China

摘要: Sanjiang National Nature Reserve (NNR) is a state-owned natural wetland in China that has suffered severe degradation due to cultivation and reclamation by farmers. As consequence, the conversion of cultivated land wetlands (CCW) was proposed government Heilongjiang province United Nations Development Programme/Global Environment Facility (UNDP/GEF) project team 2007. We suggest voluntary participation CCW could be an important tool for accomplishing integrated objectives conservation local development. The purpose this study examine main factors influence farmers’ willingness participate through field investigation questionnaire. Based on data from our questionnaire, which provided effective sample 310 households 11 villages, influencing were analyzed binary logistic regression analyses. It concluded age, education, amount land, geographical location, perceived benefits risks participation. Furthermore, suggestions improving compensation system providing alternative livelihoods are strengthen
