Sensory processing in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Relationship with non-verbal IQ, autism severity and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder symptomatology

摘要: Abstract The main objective of this study was to analyze in a sample children with ASD the relationship between sensory processing, social participation and praxis impairments some child's characteristics, such as non-verbal IQ, severity symptoms number ADHD (inattention hyperactivity/impulsivity), both home main-classroom environments. Participants were parents teachers 41 from 5 8 years old ( M  = 6.09). They completed Sensory Processing Measure (SPM) evaluate praxis; Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS-2) autism severity; set items (the DSM-IV-TR criteria) inattention hyperactivity/impulsivity child. Non-verbal IQ – measured by Raven's Coloured Progressive Matrices Test did not show any SPM variables. variables significant predictors had similar weights two In case symptoms, greater weight than classroom environment, they especially only family context. moderate association auditory processing found suggests possible utility certain measures aimed simplify classroom's acoustic environment.
