摘要: Five gridded datasets containing measures of temperature and precipitation extremes over the past five decades China are compared. Time series, spatial averages trends in China's coldest warmest days nights wettest estimated from these that vary their station network density, interpolation procedures order which calculated. We find country-wide coherent irrespective dataset choice although actual values generally smaller indices calculated daily interpolated grids rather than points. There also some regional differences especially regions with sparse data networks, e.g. Tibetan Plateau. Averaged across China, period 1961–2009 a minimum 0.13 °C decade−1 (hottest day) to 0.65 °C decade−1 (coldest night). The day night have tended warm faster night. Trends much less spatially can be positive or negative depending on dataset. length record chosen is vital eliminate spurious trends. results important implications for detection attribution model evaluation studies.
