摘要: Abstract— We have developed a nondestructive technique to measure the densities and porosities of large (50 g several kilogram) meteorite samples begun systematic measurement program starting with meteorites from Vatican Observatory collection. Our utilizes modified Archimedean method (40 μm glass spheres substituting for fluid) determine bulk density, an unusually He pycnometer grain density. From these, porosity is calculated. report here our first results 89 (nearly doubling published database on hand samples), including 35 different meteorites. These include types not previously reported: eight iron meteorites, six stony-iron enstatite chondrite, CI carbonaceous chondrite Orgueil, shergottite-nakhlatite-chassignite (SNC) Nakhla.
