摘要: Abstract The ten subjects of this report who had concomitant idiopathic, adult-onset immunoglobulin (Ig) deficiency and pernicious anemia, presented a relatively uniform syndrome. Severe impairment humoral antibody production was associated with marked propensity for bacterial infections which appeared in most instances before the anemia detected. Atrophic gastritis, achlorhydria absent intrinsic factor were characteristic findings anemia. Unusual features, however, included strikingly early onset (mean age thirty-four years), absence antibodies to parietal cells factor, frequent diarrhea giardiasis, malabsorption vitamin B12 presence factor. One patient ulcerative colitis, another rheumatoid-like arthritis third allergic number allergens. serum these patients provides strongest evidence date that are not essential pathogenesis atrophic gastritis or other autoimmune disorders. earlier clinical appearance Ig than occurrence variety diseases hypogammaglobulinemia, suggest may be primary lesion. Since delayed cell-mediated immune mechanisms appear intact patients, it seems possible gastric atrophy resulted from type cellular hyperactivity, host hypersensitivity both.
