摘要: A surface illumination apparatus includes: a light source; an end-surface light-guide portion which guides emitted from the source in long-side direction thereof and generates short-side thereof; guide plate allows to be incident upon emits one main-surface thereof. The includes plurality of polarization control portions arranged direction; each has half-wave polarizing prism; form either S-polarized P-polarized light, using portions; emits, as output portion.
