摘要: Abstract Background: IGF-I is a major regulator of growth, influenced primarily by diet in infancy and GH childhood. Breastfed infants have lower levels compared to formula fed tend be shorter. The higher protein content infant has stimulatory effect on production. Conversely, studies suggest that later childhood, those breastfed are taller levels. Therefore, it been suggested the axis may programmed during infancy. association between life not known. Objective: To examine adolescence. Design: Infants (109) from observational Copenhagen cohort study. Methods: Serum-IGF-I was measured (2, 6, 9 months) at follow-up 17 years. Associations were examined correlation tests linear regression controlling for gender, breastfeeding, other covariates. Likelihood ratio test based residual log likelihood applied analysis including all measurements Results: There an inverse 9 months 17 years ( r = −0.39, P = 0.014, n = 40). A 1 ng/ml concentration corresponded 0.95 ng/ml 2 6 months significantly associated with 17 years, but estimated directions negative. These associations changed when adjusted breastfeeding covariates except 2 months which negatively = 0.030) corresponding 0.96 ng/ml per ng/ml 2 months. Inclusion showed negative 17-year values = −0.26, = 0.043, = 109). Conclusion: results support hypothesis can early life.
