摘要: Background: Human immune deficiency virus ( HIV) infection was a major health problem all over the world. The had become pandemic and no country immune. main burden of disease shared by developing countries their crippled economies were unable to deal with it. As result number HIV patients increasing day day. Treatment expensive preventive measures not effective. intravenous drug users (IDUs) contributors in its spread. Objectives: To assess prevalence determining frequency users. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place duration study: Rehabilitation center for IDU,s District Headquarter Hospital Faisalabad (DHQ), Tertiary Care Hospital, Affiliated Punjab Medical College during Jan.2013 Dec.2013. Subjects Methods: All I. V. attending rehabilitation D.H.Q. hospital included subjected be screened HIV/AIDS infection. Total 352 attended center. Each patient given code hide identity results tests kept secret. blood samples collected labeled respected on Results: enrolled at 96 tested positive Another 62 belonged urban area 34 rural area. About 80 living families 16 out families. 78% having sufficient earnings living. Conclusions: Intravenous threat public transmitting sharing needles.
