摘要: Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) is a surface treatment, similar to anodizing, that produces thick oxide films on the of metals. In present work, PEO coatings were obtained zinc-aluminized (ZA) carbon steel using solution containing sodium silicate and potassium hydroxide as electrolyte, working with high current densities short treatment times in Direct Current (DC) mode. The thickness coating, well morphology, strongly influenced by process parameters, different dissolution grades ZA layer depending density time. A compromise between porosity coating was found low density/long time or density/short mainly composed aluminum oxides silicon compounds. corrosion resistance increased remarkably samples coating. These coated are suitable for sealing treatments further increase their properties will be also an ideal substrate commercial painting, assuring improved mechanical adhesion protection even presence damages.
