摘要: [1] The role of atmospheric deposition iron, nitrogen and phosphorus in supplying nutrients to marine systems has been described, individually, previous works. Here we examine dry all these simultaneously, using samples collected during two meridional transects the Atlantic Ocean. We find that, line with work, desert dust supplies excess iron water column. However, primary production promoted by aerosol can be sufficient consume soluble input some situations. Aerosol N:P is universally very high, so that always deficient P relative phytoplankton requirements. Nitrogen fixation stimulated any supply utilisation nutrient inputs will therefore tend drive ecosystem towards limitation. This emphasises need study biogeochemical impact an integrated manner.
