摘要: Abstract Objectives To examine regional differences in rehabilitation outcomes among adult patients with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) who received care at an inpatient facility (IRF). Design We conducted a secondary analysis of large, multi-center dataset from the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation. Setting More than 70% all IRFs United States. Participants Adult TBI (N=175,358) aged 18 years or older were admitted and discharged IRF States between 2004 2014. Qualifying etiology included dysfunction Impairment Group codes 02.21 (traumatic, open injury) 02.22 closed injury). Interventions Not applicable. Main Outcome Measures Discharge functional status (total, cognitive, motor), length stay, discharge to home. Results Patient clinical characteristics varied significantly by geographic location, as did median status, percentage The region where was received, race ethnicity, age, occurrence 1 more falls during case mix group, insurance associated Conclusions Our findings provide evidence potential disparities care. research is needed identify risk poor inform development testing interventions reduce these patients.
