摘要: Suture anchor fixation failure can occur if the pulls out of bone. We hypothesized that suture be augmented with polymethylmethacrylate cement, and used to improve in a stripped hole. Six matched cadaveric proximal humeri were used. On one side, anchors placed loaded using ramped cyclic loading protocol. The holes then injected approximately 1 cc polymethylmethacrylate, replaced tested again. In contralateral humerus, was into before placement testing. unstripped anchors, increased number cycles by 34% load 71% compared not polymethylmethacrylate. Polymethylmethacrylate haugmentation 31% 111% uncemented anchors. No difference found or between cemented augment fixation, reducing risk pull-out failure, regardless whether hole is unstripped.
