摘要: There has been a universal movement towards government-regulated standardisation and high-stakes assessment. In the United States, this resulted in No Child Left Behind Act (2001). Because of predominant focus on reading writing assessments required by NCLB, teachers subject area English/Language Arts (ELA) have victims increased expectations regimentation, more so than most other content areas. Therefore, for today, both ELA across curriculum, NCLB is harming teachers, their practice long-term commitment to teaching profession.
