摘要: The use of medicinal plants or other naturally derived products to relieve illness can be traced back over several millennia, and these natural are still extensively used nowadays. Studies on have, the years, enormously contributed development therapeutic drugs in modern medicine. By means substances as selective agonists, antagonists, enzyme inhibitors activators, it has been possible understand complex function many relevant targets. For instance, an attempt how pepper species evoke hot painful actions, pungent active constituent capsaicin (from Capsicum sp.) was isolated 1846 receptor for biological actions cloned 1997, which is now known TRPV1 (transient potential vanilloid 1). Thus, agonists antagonists have currently tested order find new drug classes treat different disorders. Indeed, transient (TRP) proteins targets compounds, TRPs synthesised based knowledge products. In this context, chapter focuses compounds animals) that reported able modulate TRP channels. To clarify make understanding modulatory effects easier, divided into groups according subfamilies: TRPV (TRP vanilloid), TRPA ankyrin), TRPM melastatin), TRPC canonical) TRPP polycystin). A general overview depicted Table 1.
