摘要: Abstract Prolonged permanence of animals under social isolation (SI) arouses a variety psychological symptoms like aggression, stress, anxiety and depression. However, short-term SI is commonly used to evaluate memory. Interestingly, the memory cannot be accessed with delays higher than 30 min in mice. Our hypothesis that intermediate duration, one week (1 w), impairs long-term storage new information (S-LTM), without affecting or other types memories, because compromises olfactory function animal. results demonstrated impaired S-LTM, kinds anxiety. In addition, increased latency buried-food finding task, but did not affect habituation discrimination odors. Next, we postulated if continuous input system fundamental for maintenance persistence, isolated mice odor-enriched environment (OEE) should behave group-housed (GH) animals. fact, OEE prevented S-LTM deficit imposed by SI. restore olfaction GH level. suggest modulates probably, independent mechanisms. We also showed first time rescued through mechanism necessarily involved olfaction.
