摘要: Radiotherapy of squamous cell cancer the head-andneck remains a challenge with necessity to deliver high total dose irradiation tight proximity tumour targets and normal tissue like salivary glands or spinal cord. These carcinomas are generally curable when diagnosed at an early stage disease, but many patients’ present locally advanced tumours. Despite aggressive local therapywith chemoradiationor/and surgery, prognosis these lesions relatively poor overall survivals rates between 30 40% 5 years, new therapeutic approaches needed. In this direction, several axes under investigationswith aim improving control reducing toxicity. Recent progresses concern distribution precision radiotherapy radiobiology (combinations radiosensitizers protectors, altered fractionation, combination molecular targeted therapies).
