摘要: Abstract This work presents details of a shallow mining subsidence event that occurred in the summer 2001 causing formation crown-holes at surface which affected East Coast Main Railway line UK. caused significant disruption and remediation effort required construction 1.8 km long diversion built on piled, reinforced concrete raft. Details ground investigation are summarised along with large parametric numerical modelling study undertaken FLAC 3D into potential causes instability, including role variations level groundwater table, influence structure rock mass also geometry abandoned workings. Ultimately allowed constraints to be placed likely excavation width workings site bedding spacing strength overlying mass. The suggests increase water table may have been factor occurrence instability site.
