摘要: The tadpole of Altiphrynoides osgoodi is described on the basis material collected in 1975 near Goba, Ethiopia. resembles typical bufonid tadpoles its general shape and size, but differs several characters from other known African tadpoles. It characterized by very large nostrils an indistinct (in preservative), long, slitlike spiracular aperture. buccopharyngeal morphology overall similar to that reported for bufonids shows most similarities with Schismaderma carens. gut a Gosner stage 34 contained items were apparently ingested as well amounts yolk within intestinal tissue, suggesting A. may be facultatively nonfeeding.
