摘要: Studies on the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Mitragyna speciosa leaf extracts are lacking. In this study properties water, methanolic alkaloid M. were evaluated using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging method. The amount total phenolics flavanoid contents also estimated. IC50 values aqueous, 213.4, 104.81 37.08 μg/mL, respectively. phenolic content 66.0 mg, 88.4, 105.6 mg GAE/g, respectively, while 28.2, 20.0 91.1 CAE/g correlated with content. This result suggests that relatively high activity extract compared to aqueous could be possibly due its screened for activity. showed against Salmonella typhi Bacillus subtilis. minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) determined by broth dilution method ranged from 3.12 6.25 mg/mL. was found most effective all tested organisms.
