摘要: The segmental concentration profile ρ of end‐tethered flexible polymer chains is calculated for comparison with recent measurements on layers having a low surface grafting density σ. Moments are also as these quantities, rather than the full profiles, usually measured experimentally. Exact calculations summarized ideal an arbitrary short‐range polymer–surface interaction. Though technical difficulties restrict our renormalization group (RG) swollen to limiting values interaction, analysis indicates that relatively simple, closed‐form, Gaussian‐chain expression provides good approximation RG results if average size Gaussian chain replaced by its swollen‐chain analog. This approximate excluded volume and variable interaction should prove useful when interpreting experimental low‐grafti...
