摘要: Only five mammalian species are known to be venomous, and while a large amount of research has been carried out on reptile venom, venom poorly studied date. Here we describe the status current into platypus, semi-aquatic egg-laying Australian mammal, discuss our approach platypus transcriptomics. We propose that such construction analysis transcriptomes from small samples gland, in tandem with proteomics studies, will allow identification full range components. Functional studies pharmacological evaluation identified toxins then lay foundations for future development novel biomedical substances. A useful molecules have already snake many these currently use human medicine. It is therefore hoped this basic identify constituents eventually yield drugs new targets painkillers.
