摘要: • Sepsis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with trauma. To elucidate factors that might lead to infection, we studied the epidemiologic characteristics nosocomial infections our patient population During 3.5-year period, 2496 were entered into hospital trauma registry cross-matched infection control surveillance information. Two hundred twenty-nine identified (9.2%), figure was nearly twice rate for general population. The majority those infected either orthopedic (51 %), surgical (25%), or neurosurgical (13%) patients. most common sites first urinary tract (61%) respiratory system (14%). Patients developing significantly older had higher Injury Severity Score than who did not. site related risk injuries spine, chest, extremity showing significant relationship. length stay as well charges occurrence infectious complications. By determining at treatment strategies can be designed minimize septic ( Arch Surg. 1991;126:97-99)
