摘要: Postpartum infections are still a problem in obstetrics, but the clinical concern has switched from gram–positive to gram–negative pathogens. Suggestions given for rescheduling morbidity rounds obstetrics and reemphasizing microbiologic techniques necessary increase yield of anaerobic cultures. Prevention postpartum by positive antepartum intrapartum measures is stressed. Therapy requires an accurate diagnostic work–up. An awareness types organisms recovered various sites infection will help guide appropriate antibiotic selection.
