摘要: Background: Lateral spread response (LSR) to the electrical stimulation of a facial nerve branch is specific electrophysiological feature primary hemifacial spasm (HFS). The curative treatment HFS based on surgical microvascular decompression (MVD). However, outcome this procedure not always satisfactory. Objective: To evaluate correlation between intraoperative LSR changes and short- long-term postoperative clinical following MVD. Methods: Thirty-two consecutive patients with treated by MVD performed monitoring were retrospectively included. assessed for presence complications at 1 day, month 6 months after surgery. result was 10 years (mean 5.4 years) using self-report questionnaire. Results: Patients divided into three groups changes: (1) in 15 patients, LSRs present before incision disappeared (47%); (2) nine but persisted despite (28%); (3) eight absent surgery remained so (25%). Intraoperative abolition during correlated relief long term (p Conclusions: Monitoring recording intraoperatively could be value only indicate resolution vasculonervous conflict end surgery, also predict successful intervention.
