摘要: Cancerogenesis is driven by mutations leading to aberrant functioning of a complex network molecular interactions and simultaneously affecting multiple cellular functions. Therefore, the successful application bioinformatics systems biology methods for analysis high-throughput data in cancer research heavily depends on availability global detailed reconstructions signalling networks amenable computational analysis. We present here Atlas Cancer Signalling Network (ACSN), an interactive comprehensive map mechanisms implicated cancer. The resource includes tools navigation, visualization context maps. Constructing updating ACSN involves careful manual curation literature participation experts corresponding fields. cancer-oriented content completely original covers major involved progression, including DNA repair, cell survival, apoptosis, cycle, EMT motility. Cell are depicted detail, together creating seamless ‘geographic-like' frequently deregulated browsable using NaviCell web interface Google Maps engine semantic zooming principle. associated web-blog provides forum commenting curating content. allows uploading heterogeneous omics from users top maps performing functional analyses. suggest several scenarios research, particularly visualizing data, starting small interfering RNA-based screening results or mutation frequencies innovative ways exploring transcriptomes phosphoproteomes. Integration these may help interpret their biological significance formulate mechanistic hypotheses. also support patient stratification, prediction treatment response resistance drugs, as well design novel strategies.
