A new look at economic indexes for the states in the Third District

摘要: If we want to know how things are going in the economy, which measures should look at? Unemployment? GDP? Or something else? One solution is combine several into a composite index of current or future economic activity. Several years ago, Philadelphia Fed did just that for states Third District. Now, number factors suggest revisions those indexes order. This article explains what entail and why new better than old ones.
