摘要: Previously, we reported that Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii)-seropositivity is associated with higher impulsive sensation seeking in younger men. As dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling regulate impulsivity, as T. directly indirectly affects induces activation of the kynurenine pathway leading to diversion tryptophan from serotonin production, investigated if dopamine precursors or metabolite interact gondii-impulsivity association. In 950 psychiatrically healthy participants, trait impulsivity scores were related IgG seropositivity. Interactions also identified between categorized levels phenylalanine (Phe), tyrosine (Tyr), Phe:Tyr ratio, (Kyn), (Trp) Kyn:Trp age gender. Only gondii-positive men a high found have significantly scores. There no significant associations other demographic groups, including women older No effects interactions for Phe, Tyr, Kyn, Trp, ratio. therefore, may play moderating role association seropositivity These results could potentially lead individualized approaches reduce based on combined demographic, biochemical serological factors.
