摘要: Abstract In order to evaluate the origin and transformation of organic matter on shallow shelf NW Adriatic Sea, carbon, total nitrogen stable isotope ratios carbon were analysed in riverine suspended sediments as well marine sedimentary matter, phytoplankton zooplankton. The deposition is influenced by fine sediment concentration. Surface characterised highly variable biogeochemical conditions sea floor, whereas sub-surface showed a more homogeneous hypoxic/anoxic environment. Low C org /N ratio high concentrations indicate an important contribution freshwater within rivers, particularly during low flow regimes, which adds phyto- zooplankton at locations. importance terrestrial, sources OM sediments, three end-member mixing model was applied surface using 13 C/ 12 values for N/C ratios. elevated terrestrial substances intermediate depths (10–15 m), mostly corresponding area coarser grain-size, fractions mainly accumulating near coast offshore, respectively.
