摘要: The 2015 Dudrick Research Symposium "Lean Tissue and Protein in Health Disease: Key Targets Assessment Strategies" was held on February 16, 2015, at Clinical Nutrition Week Long Beach, California. honors the many pivotal innovative contributions to development advancement of parenteral nutrition made by Dr Stanley J. Dudrick, physician scientist, academic leader, a founding member American Society for Parenteral Enteral Nutrition. As 2014 recipient award, Carrie Earthman chaired symposium first 3 speakers, followed Robert Wolfe Steven Heymsfield. addressed importance lean tissue health response disease injury, as well opportunities challenges its assessment bedside. Lean is beneficial clinical care chronic acute settings, given strong relationship between outcomes, including functional status. Currently available bioimpedance techniques, use parameters, status were presented. connection protein requirements discussed, highlighting maintenance one most important primary end points which can be estimated. various tracer techniques establish presented, emphasizing practical considerations research protocols aimed requirements. Ultrasound other new emerging technologies that may used areas future highlighted.
