摘要: Abstract The Smad genes are the intracellular mediators of TGF-beta signals. Targeted mutagenesis in mice has yielded valuable new insights into functions this important gene family. These experiments have shown that Smad2 and Smad4 needed for gastrulation, Smad5 angiogenesis, Smad3 establishment mucosal immune response proper development skeleton. In addition, these us importance dosage family, as several its members haploinsufficiency phenotypes. include gastrulation craniofacial defects , accelerated wound healing incidence gastric cancer . Combinatorial genetics also revealed Smads left/right isomerism liver development.
