摘要: Sport and recreation are cornerstones of how we define ourselves as human beings the competitive spirit is just prominent in individuals with disabilities it their able-bodied counterparts. Wheelchair sports were initially developed following WWII a rehabilitation tool to care for young men women injured during war. Today athletes narrowing gap competition between impaired unimpaired through training, advancement technology, ingenuity seated athlete. This article examines number factors related maximizing performance prevention injury wheelchair sport. Physical technological considerations various will be discussed including; metabolic demands, equipment selection, configuration, advances technology measurement well directions future research.
