摘要: Two groups of white, primiparous women and their babies were studied: one group in April 1979 the other September 1979. They selected to be as near normal possible. In each case maternal cord blood samples taken at delivery analysed for serum 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OHD), calcium, magnesium, phosphate, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, albumin. Follow-up was by questionnaire 6 weeks. The study showed a highly significant increase 25-OHD levels September. few mothers who had vitamin D supplements significantly higher values. Some unsupplemented studied low suggesting that oral should given pregnant white Britain, least during winter.
