摘要: Samples of suspended particles have been collected from the turbidity maximum region Tamar Estuary, S.W. England. Specific surface areas and porosities were determined by a BET nitrogen adsorption technique. The role coatings organic matter Fe Mn oxides was examined. data show that specific area highest at associated with high Fe/Mn ratios. characterised then used in time-dependent adsorption-desorption experiments, waters metal-rich Carnon River, rates extents sorption processes interpreted terms two-stage reaction which related to microstructures particles. Kinetic analyses desorption profiles gave rate constants are significance prediction fate toxic metal wastes discharged into estuaries.
